HDDS-30 destroys electronic data storage devices

The Hunkeler Document Destruction System HDDS-30 reliably destroys electronic data storage devices in accordance with DIN standard 66399. The Hunkeler Control Manager controls and monitors the destruction process and logs it. Every single object can be traced back and ascribed to the respective user.

In February, Hunkeler Systeme AG presented the Hunkeler Document Destruction System HDDS-30 at a trade fair in Lucerne. In addition to paper documents, the HDDS-30 shreds electronic data storage devices such as desktop computers, laptops, smartphones, tablets and hard drives. Information stored on electronic data storage devices is reliably destroyed in accordance with “DIN Standard 66399 for the Shredding or Destruction of all types of Data Media”.
The destruction process is controlled, monitored and recorded on the Hunkeler Control Manager. To activate the HDDS-30, users need to log onto the Control Manager using their name. Thanks to this identification system, every single object that has been destroyed can be traced back and unambiguously ascribed to the respective user.
A high-performance shredding unit containing powerful cutting blades is installed in the HDDS-30. Depending on the material, the system shreds up to 200 kilograms of matter per hour. A sieve only allows particles to pass through that have reached a size prescribed in DIN standard 66399. Depending on the application and requirements, the particle size varies between 15 and 40 millimetres. The shredding unit runs at low levels in an extremely smooth manner and only generates small amounts of dust.
